Proxy Server:
  • When you connect to the Internet you can connect two ways, direct connection, or connecting through a proxy server.

  • If you are a connecting from home you most likely don't have to set the proxy server option, on the other hand if you are connecting to the Internet from your business you are most likely accessing the Internet through a proxy server. In order to input these setting you have to enable the checkbox named User Proxy Server. You may obtain the proxy server information by either looking it up from your default browser connections settings or by contacting your network administrator.

  • Microsoft Internet explorer stores these settings in the Tools > Options dialog box under Connection > LAN Settings, for other browsers please consult their application help.

  • The proxy server host address can be entered as an IP address or URL.

  • The port number normally defaults to 80, check with your LAN administrator if you have trouble establishing connection.

Click on the or buttons to save your changes.

Tip:
When you are entering the Proxy server user name you have been assigned by your system administrator you may need to include your domain name in front of your user name followed by a slash (\). For example if your domain name is "mynet", and your user name is "mike" you would enter mynet\mike in the Proxy server User Name field.
